Cookies
Last reviewed:
We use a small number of cookies and similar storage to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and (with your consent) measure how the product is used. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not sell or share information with ad networks.
What we use
Essential
| Storage | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| kiantu_access_token | Keeps you signed in (LocalStorage, not a cookie). | Up to 7 days. |
| kiantu_refresh_token | Refreshes your session without re-prompting (LocalStorage). | Up to 90 days. |
| kiantu_workspace_id, kiantu_actor_id | Remembers which workspace and account you last used (LocalStorage). | Until you sign out. |
| kiantu:statusbar-prefs | Remembers your status-bar layout preferences (LocalStorage). | Until cleared. |
| kiantu_consent, kiantu_consent_region | Remembers your analytics choice from the consent banner, and which consent rules apply in your location (LocalStorage). | Until cleared. |
Analytics (consent-based)
Whether analytics runs depends on where you are:
- EU/EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland — analytics is off until you accept in the consent banner. If you decline, or never answer, nothing loads and no device id is created.
- Everywhere else — analytics runs on an opt-out basis; the banner lets you opt out with one click and your choice is remembered.
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control — if your browser sends either signal, we treat you like an EU visitor: nothing runs unless you explicitly accept.
| Provider | Purpose | Data sent |
|---|---|---|
| PostHog | Anonymised product analytics (which features get used, where users get stuck). | A randomly-generated device id, the actor id and workspace id, the page and feature names. No email, no session contents, no goal/task titles. |
Campaign attribution
Separately from PostHog, when you arrive via a campaign link we keep the
utm_* parameters, the referring site, and the landing page in
LocalStorage (kiantu_utm on this site,
kiantu_attribution in the app). If you later sign up, this is
reported once to our own backend so we know which channel the signup came
from. It contains no personal data and is never shared with ad networks.
How to control them
-
Use the button below (or the consent banner on your first visit) to
change your analytics choice at any time:
- You can clear storage at any time via your browser's developer tools or settings; this will sign you out.
- Standard ad blockers and privacy extensions will block PostHog without affecting the rest of the product.
- PostHog also honours your browser's Do Not Track setting even after you accept.
